Segmento is a puzzle game operated by Goose Entertainment ("we", "us", "our"). This policy describes what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.
If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google display name, email address, profile photo URL, and a unique user ID. We use this solely to identify your account and display your name in the app.
We store your puzzle completion records (puzzle ID, solve time, hints used, assist settings, and timestamp) and in-progress puzzle state so you can resume across sessions. This data is stored in Google Firestore under your user ID.
If you play without signing in, your game progress is stored only in your browser's local storage and never transmitted to our servers.
Your data is used exclusively to provide game functionality: saving progress, tracking completions, displaying your stats, and syncing across devices when signed in. We do not sell, share, or provide your data to any third parties. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or analytics.
Segmento does not set any first-party cookies. Firebase Authentication uses your browser's local storage to maintain your sign-in session. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may set strictly necessary cookies for security and load balancing purposes. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.
We use Google Firebase for authentication and data storage. Google's handling of your data during the sign-in process is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We use Cloudflare for hosting and content delivery, governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Your game data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion of all your data by contacting us at the email below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Segmento is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your data is stored on Google Cloud servers which may be located outside your country of residence. By using Segmento with a signed-in account, you consent to this transfer. EU/EEA users have the right to access, correct, or delete their personal data by contacting us.
We may update this policy as Segmento evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
